Replica: British War Medal Miniature


Instituted by King George V in 1919 after the end of the First World War, to honour the service of Imperial Forces

Awarded for military service in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Mercantile Marine and related auxiliary services. To qualify required a period of service between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918, post-war mine clearance or service in Russia during 1919 and 1920.

The colours of the ribbon are not known to have any particular significance.
