Description:
The Australian General Service Medal is awarded for service in operations in South Korea between 28 July 1953 and 19 April 1956.
The medal features a map of South Korea over polar projection lines. The reverse states 'Post Armistice Service 1953-1956', with a wreath of native gums wrapping around the edge of the medal.
The ribbon features white, blue and yellow stripes. The colours of the stripes are representative of those used on the British Korea Medal and the United Nations Service Medal (Korea).
