This lapel pin is away to remember the more than 30,000 Australians taken prisoner during the Second World War.
Of the 30,000 Australian POWs, some 22,000 Australians were captured in 1942 when Japan swept through South East Asia and the pacific. While all prisoners endured hardships, the treatment of Australian POWs in Japanese camps is regarded as one of the darkest periods in Australian military history. This badge measures 20mm and is secured with a durable butterfly pin and presented on a sturdy card with historic details. Image courtesy of Military Shop.
