We Got A Fair Go (H Gallagher)

Examining the history of the Commonwealth Reconstruction and Training Scheme (CRTS) from its inception in 1942 to its conclusion in 1952, this book examines how the CRTS provided returning servicemen and women with educational and vocational opportunities to assist in their re-establishment after the Second World War, which to many people would otherwise not have been accessible. Including personal accounts written by CRTS trainees in 1998, fifty years after their training, and demonstrating not only the personal benefits that these people gained from the scheme, but also the benefits to Australian society.
