The First World War in Photographs (R Holmes)

Rather than relying heavily upon text to describe the First World War, this book takes a quite different approach, instead using over 400 photographs. These photographs come from a variety of sources - from both professional and amateur photographers - and provide a striking and moving view of the war; capturing the reality of the battlefields and the innocence of those who volunteered to serve. Each year of the war is presented as an individual chapter, with a brief written summary of the major battles and events which occurred in that time frame.

Hard cover, 110 pages.
